The four-year Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts degree program at Kendall will provide you with a thorough culinary education. You will get started on the basic techniques, but then build on those skills and improve your culinary knowledge set with advanced methods and extensive, hands-on experience.

You will be immersed in Latin, Asian, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisines by our specially trained faculty who are native to those regions, and teach the junior and senior year coursework. During these last two years, you will continue to conduct a portion of your studies in the kitchen, further developing the culinary skills you have already learned in our program. The majority of juniors and seniors demonstrate their knowledge of culinary arts topic by conducting a formal presentation at the end of the term.
After learning some of the culinary arts basics, you will learn to establish and maintain a food oriented business. The general education, combined with core math and technology courses, will give you additional benefits including enhanced verbal and written communication capabilities. Associate degree in Culinary Arts

Bachelor degree, Kendall's A.A.S. Accelerated Culinary Arts program
If you hold a Bachelor degree from somewhere else, the Accelerated Culinary Arts program Kendall offers will put you on your way to receiving an Associate degree in Culinary Arts. For students who desire an accelerated option, there is an opportunity to earn your degree in less time with the same top-notch culinary curriculum and distinguished faculty, as well as gaining the practical application of the rigorous traditional A.A.S. degree program in Culinary Arts. The student is expected to gain good knowledge in the art of science involving cooking, which enables him to acquire knowledge of critical business management techniques that make him successful in the competitive job environment of today. Associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts
Kendall College's two-year Associate degree in Baking and Pastry Arts offers a broad survey of techniques and expertise in their state-of-the-art bakeshop facilities in Chicago. By obtaining this degree, you will be prepared to establish yourself in a professional kitchen, bakeshop, or even run your own baking product line. You will learn the theory and practice of baking and pastry preparation.
You will obtain a complete understanding of baking techniques along with experiencing practical lessons. Techniques such as various mixing, shaping and baking will be taught, including concepts of creative design and methods for manufacturing classic and contemporary type pastries and breads. An exciting opportunity provided by this program is that you will be able to create your own proprietary "signature" recipe by using a methodical approach to preparing breads and pastries.
Your Associate degree fully prepares you to competitively pursue job opportunities in your field. However, to enhance your opportunities and prepare you to reach your full potential in the food service industry, you may elect to continue your education by pursuing a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management.

Are you interested in the baking and pastry industry? At Kendall's, our Bakery and Pastry Certificate offers future students a rich, introductory overview of the baking and pastry arts. This 24-quarter hour program gives you an education that can be completed in less than a year. Many students who complete the Certificate program move on in their education with us, to an Associate or Bachelor Culinary Arts degree.
Professional Personal/Catering Chef Certificate:
You'll be able to pursue your interests with a strong foundation in the culinary industry through Kendall's Professional Catering/Personal Chef Certificate program. You will find balance in this multi-disciplinary field by exploring the business and marketing side, while learning cooking fundamentals. Kendall College faculty will lead you through this 24-quarter hour program. You will find this is the best way to discover more about these creative fields on a part-time basis.
Professional Cookery Certificate:
Want to expand your learning potential in the culinary arts or get a head start in the restaurant and food industries? Kendall's Professional Cookery Certificate allows individuals to be provided with a practical and specialized skill that will serve as a solid foundation for future endeavors. The faculty at Kendall teaches this 24-quarter hour course. After completing our certificate programs, the student may choose to enroll in continuing education in our Associates or Bachelors Culinary Arts degree programs.
