Programs

Courses are offered in a six-week intensive format that requires students to complete assignments and participate in online discussions five days per week. Students may complete their work at any time during a 24-hour period. Students are encouraged to take a maximum of two courses during each six-week session. There are two six-week sessions within each quarter.

All courses and programs are developed and approved by faculty, industry advisory boards, and governing boards. Faculty participate as subject-matter experts and work with instructional designers in developing these online courses.



Programs Offered:

Culinary Management

As a student in the online Culinary Management bachelor's degree completion program, you'll:

* Study essential business courses such as human resource management, accounting, hospitality law and ethics
* Develop critical thinking and interpersonal skills through courses in marketing, customer service, communication and leadership
* Learn to create an environment that appeals to customers by studying restaurant facility design and aesthetics

An associate's degree in culinary arts is required for admission into the bachelor's completion program.

Classes are asynchronous: Students login to their classes five out of seven days a week, without regard to their physical location or time of day. We can extend the benefit of our education in the creative and applied arts to adults whose full personal and professional lives, geographic location or physical abilities limit their ability to attend classes traditionally. All a student needs is access to the Internet and the specified computer hardware and software.

Classes are interactive: The process is not passive! Students engage not only with the lecture materials, assignments and readings, but also with each other, through focused, facilitated discussions.

Classes are learner-centered: Students develop their own capabilities and talents using many informational sources, including lectures, readings, life experience, projects and group discussions. The facilitator aids the process by addressing student needs, interjecting their industry experience, and providing direction to create a unique learning experience for each student.
